Internationally acclaimed comedienne and performer Pat Candaras, a.k.a. Grandmotherfucker will host a new weekly night of alternative comedy and on-the-edge performance at the newly renovated Pyramid Club Theater. Grandmotherfucker Thursdays premieres Thursday, November 6th at 8pm. The weekly event will feature Candaras and a rotating roster of 4 or 5 stand up comics and alternative performers nightly.

A twice married, mother of three who is now widowed, Candaras spent her childhood in Brooklyn, New York in a family that included her and her sixteen siblings. Twenty-three years of her adult life were spent in corporate America. In her fifties with her children raised, Pat found herself widowed and unemployed. She decided comedy was the only place to go. Religion, Authorities, Marriage, Debt, Childhood, Children, Therapy, Love, Doctors, Pet Owners, Shopping, Exercise, Sex, Pornography and Death -- all become fodder.

Pat Candaras is the author and performer of the eponymous one-woman show Grandmotherfucker which debuted at the 2001 Edinburgh Fringe Festival under the direction of Tim Fountain (Resident Alien). This show had a successful run at Don't Tell Mama in New York City. Her follow-up production, Panic is Not A Disorder, debuted at FringeNYC 2003. As a stand-up comic , Candaras has appeared regularly in such New York City clubs as Stand-up New York, Luna Lounge, Surf Reality and PSNBC's Alternative Comedy Show. In addition to stand-up and storytelling, Pat contributes the political news commentary for The Humor Network.

Grandmotherfucker Thursdays runs every Thursday at 8pm beginning November 6th. Pyramid Club Theater is located at 101 Ave A (between 6th & 7th Streets, accessible from the L train at 1st Ave or the F train at 2nd Ave). Cover is $5.
