Kate Clinton, one of America's best known and most revered political comedians will present a bargain-priced limited engagement workshop of her newest solo show Kate Clinton: The Marrying Kind for three performances only at Fez beginning March 21. Clinton, known as both humorist and monologist culls material as fresh as the daily news, delivering savvy send-ups of modern family relationships and illuminating perspectives on life as a gay American. A full production (at full ticket price!) will be presented in the fall.

Recently listed in the New York Magazine's Year 2001 "Gay Power 101," Kate Clinton is a comedian, writer, humorist and monologist. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times and George magazine among others, and she has monthly columns for both The Progressive and The Advocate. Clinton’s performances include Out Is In (which enjoyed a 3 month off-Broadway run,1993), All Het Up (1996), Correct Me If I'm Right (1999), and Y2K8 (tour, opening at The Public Theater, 2000). She has appeared on "Good Morning America," "Nightline," "Entertainment Tonight," "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" (for which she was a writer during its rollout period in 1996), "The Roseanne Show," "The Arsenio Hall Show," "Leeza" and numerous news and talk shows on Comedy Central, Lifetime, Oxygen, MSNBC, CNN, and C-Span. Clinton has six comedy albums to her credit including Babes in Joyland, Comedy You Can Dance To and her most recent, Read These Lips. She performed at the 2001 V-Day celebration of The Vagina Monologues in a sold-out Madison Square Garden benefit. In 1999 she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. Clinton’s first book, Don't Get Me Started, was published by Ballantine in 1998, and she is currently wrapping up her second book, Kate Clinton: Collected Speeches (I Never Gave). Filmmaker Catherine Gund is also currently filming a retrospective of Clinton's first twenty years.
