Drag Star Returns To NYC For Annual Labor Day Assault
Jackie Beat is Unzipped
September 3 - 5 at Fez
JACKIE BEAT, everyone's favorite big and bawdy, bold and ballsy, in-your-face funny "lady" returns to Fez with UNZIPPED. Fez is located at 380 Lafayette Street (@ Great Jones Street). This limited engagement runs Labor Day weekend only, September 3 at 10pm and Sept. 4 & 5 at 8:00pm. Tickets are $15. For additional information and reservations call 212-533-2680 or visit feznyc.com.
UNZIPPED is an intimate look at the legend that is Jackie Beat. This all-new evening features an homage to everyone's favorite survivor, Cher, to the tune of "Half Breed." The Pointers Sisters worst song is made even stinkier when "Neutron Dance" turns scatological. Beat also digs her claws into the classic James Bond theme "Diamonds Are Forever," the Frank Sinatra standard "Witchcraft" and Britney Spears current hit "Toxic." And that's only the beginning...
Jackie Beat has been named Best Drag Queen by New York Press, and Best Live Performance by HX Magazine. She moved to New York from LA in 1997 to star in the off-Broadway production of "Valley of the Dolls," and later starred in off-Broadway’s "Tell-Tale". She has appeared on the big screen in the Joel Schumacher/Robert DeNiro film "Flawless" as well as the independent films "Grief," and "Wigstock." Her past performances at Fez have included "Uptown Lady, Downtown Girl," "A Whole Lotta Love," and "I Didn’t Mean to Turn You On." Beat moved back to LA in 2000 to assume a role as head writer on the short-lived WB sketch comedy show "Hype!"
