Axis Company will present its latest Off-Broadway venture, NOT YET DIAGNOSED (NERVOUS) 1918 beginning previews March 31st. Conceived, written and produced by Axis Company, this new multimedia piece is directed by Randy Sharp. Opening night is scheduled for Saturday, April 9th. It is produced under an Equity Off-Broadway contract.

NOT YET DIAGNOSED (NERVOUS) 1918 concerns the effects of the extreme shell shock suffered by WWI veterans following their service. Set in an allied trench during 1918, a small group of American soldiers wake to find themselves abandoned by everyone on the battlefield, including the Germans. On this desolate landscape everyone from the Army Photographic Corps specialist to the loneliest infantry soldier tries to piece together what may have happened during the night. Were they left behind? Is the war over? Are they already home? Is there anybody out there?

The production stars Brian Barnhart, David Crabb, George Demas, Marc Palmieri, Margo Passalaqua, Jim Sterling, and Ian Tooley with lights by David Zeffren, sound by Steve Fontaine and production design by Kate Aronsson-Brown.

Through the careful utilization of various media Axis Company has produced an eclectic series of original and published plays with highly advanced, state of the art technological components that enhance the internal meaning of the material. Past productions include Buchner's Woyzeck, Beckett's Play, Benjamin Baker's 1848 sensation A Glance at New York and the U.S. premiere of Sarah Kane’s Crave, starring Deborah Harry. Their episodic play Hospital, about the interior life of a man in a coma, is a West Village phenomenon every summer.

NOT YET DIAGNOSED (NERVOUS) 1918 will be presented March 31 - May 21, Thursday - Saturday at 8:00pm.
