Sex Farce with Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Celebrates 6th Month Anniversary
BITE
** by acclaimed Circle playwright Suzanne Bachner **
Extended through December 29th!
Dysfunctional Theatre, The John Montgomery Theatre Company and Horse Trade have announced another extension of the wildly popular sex farce BITE. This new comedy of dentistry and domination is written and directed by Suzanne Bachner, author of the Off-Broadway hit Circle. Performances, which began June 16th at The Red Room, have been extened through December 29th. The company will celebrate its 6 month anniversary following its December 15th performance.
In BITE, comic sex farce meets choose-your-own-adventure. It intertwines the tales of two competing dentists, two dominatrixes, and a Southern belle. The action begins in a sterile 5th Avenue dentist's chair and ends down in the cavities of a secret dominatrix-run dungeon with the audience in control all the way. Unlike most "interactive" theater experiences, BITE is intricately scripted and meticulously plotted with multiple outcomes at every turn. Never the same show twice, you’ll want to keep coming back to get a different taste with every BITE.
The production stars Bob Brader, Robert Brown, Jennifer Gill, Theresa Goehring, Amy Overman, Justin Plowman with Naomi Warner and Peter Schuyler. BITE features dramaturgy by Rick Vomdran and Margaret Stockton, with sound design by Alexander R. Warner and costume, prop & mask design by Deborah Alves, and set by Charles Townsend Wittreich, Jr.
Suzanne Bachner’s award-winning play Circle ran for five months Off-Broadway. Her plays include Icons & Outcasts, Don’t Let Destiny Push You Around, Alexandra Triptych, Jump Start, Alice Through the Looking Glass and Flirting with Reality. She studied playwriting with Romulus Linney and received her MFA from The Actors Studio Drama School at The New School. She has received four OOBR Awards and is a member of The Dramatists Guild.
