JACKIE BEAT, everyone's favorite big and bawdy, bold and ballsy, in-your-face funny "lady" makes her annual Labor Day Weekend stop in New York. On September 1st, she premieres HOW TO ACHIEVE THAT NATURAL LOOK at The Cutting Room (19 West 24th Street -- accessible from the N,R,F,V & 6 trains at 23rd Street). This limited engagement runs for 3 performances only, Friday, September 1 - Sunday, September 3 at 8pm. Tickets are $18, available at 212-352-3101 or TheaterMania.com.
Larger-than-life drag superstar Jackie Beat gets asked 2 questions all the time: "When are you going to do some of your classic material again?" and "How do you stay looking so young and beautiful?" The long-awaited answers come in the form of HOW TO ACHIEVE THAT NATURAL LOOK. This new show features a sampling of the very best of Miss Beat, some exciting new material, and beauty tips galore. Jackie even presents her own version of Aretha Franklin's "Natural Woman" -- brutally judging the makeup skills of today's painted women.
According to Beat, "If you've ever had the misfortune of being mistaken for a cast member of CATS while simply walking down the street, or had a child scream, ‘Yippee, the circus is in town!’ while you were merely grocery shopping -- this is the show for you."
Jackie Beat has been named Best Drag Queen by New York Press , and Best Live Performance by HX Magazine. She moved to New York from LA in 1997 to star in the off-Broadway production of "Valley of the Dolls," and later starred in off-Broadway’s "Tell-Tale".
