NYC’s Favorite Grinch Returns for 9th Annual Holiday Show

JACKIE BEAT: HOW THE BITCH STOLE CHRISTMAS
December 15 - 17 at The Cutting Room

"a crabby alternative to Christmas cheer... an oasis of bile in a season of sappy sentiment" -- Time Out

"A hilarious not-to-be-missed holiday tradition...warm seasonal classics glazed with enough arsenic to poison every sacred belief and tradition..." - HX Magazine

JACKIE BEAT, everyone's favorite Grinch, returns to NYC for her 9th annual holiday show. Beginning December 15th, Beat will present an updated version of her wildly popular 1999 show JACKIE BEAT: HOW THE BITCH STOLE CHRISTMAS at The Cutting Room (19 West 24th Street -- accessible from the N,R,F,V & 6 trains at 23rd Street). This limited engagement runs for 3 performances only, December 15 - 17 at 8pm. Tickets are $18. For tickets call 212-352-3101 or visit TheaterMania.com.

UPDATE, ADDITIONAL SHOW ADDED: Due to demand, a 9:30pm show has been added to Saturday, December 16th.

It all started so innocently in 1998 with Jesus Christ, It’s Your Birthday!, a delightful non-denominational holiday tribute featuring such seasonal fare as "Sleigh Ride in Leather With You," and "Black Christmas." When the show was prominently featured in The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Right’s 1998 Report on Anti-Catholicism, an annual holiday tradition was born.

Now the bile-filled Ms. Beat returns to New York to share her latest thoughts on "the most wonderful time of the year." Whether you celebrate Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa or Ramadan, JACKIE BEAT: HOW THE BITCH STOLE CHRISTMAS is the perfect way to celebrate. The show features the ghosts of Jackie’s Holiday Past, including and "Go To Hell," Beat’s jaded reworking of "Silver Bells;" a mingling of Hebrew tradition with Elvis Presley in "Jew Christmas;" the Britney Spears-influenced "Oops!... It’s Christmas Again," and a few new songs destined to become holiday classics. The evening wouldn't complete without a "fireside" performance of the titular short story HOW THE BITCH STOLE CHRISTMAS, Jackie’s own delightfully twisted take on the Dr. Seuss classic (casting herself as the meanie with a fiendish plan to steal Christmas from the holiday-loving gays of Chelsea).

L.A. based performer Jackie Beat has been named Best Drag Queen by New York Press and Best Live Performance by HX Magazine. She has appeared on the big screen in the Joel Schumacher/Robert DeNiro film Flawless as well as the indie films Grief, and Wigstock. Her stage credits include "Valley of the Dolsl" and "Tell-Tale" Off-Broadway and numerous live solo shows including "Uptown Lady, Downtown Girl," "Blew Christmas," and "I Didn’t Mean to Turn You On." She has written for the Sci Fi Channel, the WB sketch comedy show "Hype!" and US Magazine’s Fashion Police. She has also provided the voice of Bertha on Nickelodeon’s animated series "Kung-Fu Spy Troll". She is the subject of the documentary film "My Name is Jackie Beat" culled from over 5 years of performance footage including commentary from Joan Rivers, Margaret Cho, Lady Bunny, and Roseanne Barr, among others. She is also the lead singer of the popular electroclash band Dirty Sanchez.
