New York drag sensation EDIE has just been cast as the Mistress of Seduction -- the role originated by legendary drag performer Joey Arias -- in Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Before she packs her bags, she says farewell and happy holidays to her fans with EDIE in CIAO, MANHATTAN! This one night only performance will be held Thursday, December 13 at 7pm at The Zipper Factory Theater (336 West 37th Street, between 8th & 9th Aves -- accessible from the C & E trains at 34th Street). EDIE in CIAO, MANHATTAN! is a "best of" performance by Edie and her gorgeous backup dancers. It will feature Edie's signature numbers all with her mod 60s go-go twist, lots of high-kicks, a hint of holiday cheer, and original songs from her wildly popular off-Broadway show Legs!

Over the last few years New York drag star EDIE has racked up a bevy of accolades including Best Drag Performer from HX Magazine and both Best Dance Artist and Entertainer of the Year Glammy Awards (the Oscars of drag). She has toured internationally with solo shows and most recently she made her Broadway debut in the Tony nominated production of The Three Penny Opera with Cyndi Lauper and Alan Cumming. Other appearances include the MTV Video Music Awards with Roseanne at Radio City Music Hall, the Rosie O'Donnell Show, Caroline's Comedy Club with Judy Gold, Wigstock, Broadway Bares, and the Actor's Fund benefit concert of "Funny Girl" with Bebe Neuwirth and Whoopi Goldberg. Edie is a regular performer on Atlantis, the largest gay cruise ever, and has toured the country with Lady Bunny in Absolut Live!, with stops at the House of Blues in L.A. and at Disney Gay Days in Orlando as the opening act for Cyndi Lauper. EDIE lit up both the small screen and the big screen in the feature film, "Pot Luck," and on HBO's Emmy-winning "Sex and the City." She can be heard on the CD "Abbalicious" -- New York drag celebrities covering their favorite ABBA songs. Edie also performed on the 2006 Tony Awards with the company of "The Three Penny Opera."
