After a sold-out NYC debut last Christmas, drag legend MISS RICHFIELD 1981 returns to The Zipper Factory Theater to premiere MISS RICHFIELD 1981 FLIES OVER THE COO COO’S NEST. Written and directed by Russ King, performances are Friday, May 16 & Saturday, May 17 at The Zipper Factory Theater (336 West 37th Street, between 8th & 9th Aves -- accessible from the C,E trains at 34th Street). Doors open at 7:30pm, show time is at 8pm. Tickets are $20 each, available at 212-352-3101 or thezipperfactory.com. Dinner reservations at The Zipper Factory Tavern are available at 212-695-4600.

In MISS RICHFIELD 1981 FLIES OVER THE COO COO’S NEST, Miss Richfield 1981 sets flight! The Midwestern maven greets big city folk with five blow-up dolls, a newly sharpened handsaw, and the message that no one is beyond help, even in the godless mecca of New York City. Miss R will drive her message home with original music, educational videos, and of course her trademark dialogue with the audience. Don’t miss this two-night engagement, which is twice as long as the last time!

With a unique combination of Midwestern sensibilities and off-the-page humor, MISS RICHFIELD 1981 has quickly become one of America's most beloved drag stars. Her rich history begins with a life-long goal of being crowned beauty queen of her first-ring suburb of Minneapolis (hometown of her creator, Russ King). Since winning the title of Miss Richfield in 1981, she has continued to promote the values and principles of Richfield, Minnesota, "where butter is a spice and gravy is a beverage." As well as performing sell-out performances throughout the country, Miss R has earned a reputation as one of the most successful acts in Provincetown (along with Varla Jean Merman and Dina Martina). Miss R also headlines for Atlantis Events cruises and resort vacations, the largest LGBT vacation company. She has appeared on numerous TV shows including "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Today" on NBC. In December, Miss R will christen "The Gem" for Norwegian Cruise Line in Boston and New York. Miss R invites you to join her online at www.MissRichfield.com, where she keeps a calendar of events and shares words of wisdom, such as her favorite Bible verse: "It's important to be nice, but it's nicer to be important."
