1984 @ the Pyramid Club
101 Avenue A (between 6th & 7th Streets) in the East Village
Open 10pm-4am. $8 cover
Your love for SADE is king. Is it a crime? Watch all her smoothest videos in the downstairs lounge all night! On the dance floor, dance to new wave, disco, and 80's pop hits from the likes of George Michael, Prince, Wham, Debbie Gibson, Bananarama, Jaon Jett, Pet Shop Boys, Jody Watley, Madonna, Wang Chung, Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul and many, many others.
1984 is a GAY 80's dance party that takes place every Friday night at the Pyramid Club. The party is a high-energy campy affair, with the emphasis on upbeat music and 80s pop/new wave/disco. The music comes from the years 1979-1993.
At 1984, you might find yourself partying next to 80's icons Andy Bell from Erasure, Marc Almond, Jimmy Somerville, or members of the Go-Go's, Dead or Alive, and A Flock of Seagulls --- because they've all come to 1984 to hang out. Or you might hook up with the stars from "Grey's Anatomy" and "Queer Eye" --- they're often at 1984!
But really, who cares? Shut up and dance. Our Lips Are Sealed!
See ya at 1984 this Friday. The doors open at 10pm, with the dance floor opening around 11pm. The basement features video screenings, often around a special theme (such as "ABBA rarities" or an all Madonna night). The club is open until 4am. Click on the flyer picture above right for more information about theme nights that are currently scheduled.
1984 is STRICTLY 21 and over. Please be sure to bring ID, no matter what your age is --- the club ALWAYS cards!
