EDIE: SUMMER’S A GO-GO! is a singin’-dancin’-storytellin’ sendoff to the summer season. Drag sensation Edie performs all your favorites with her signature 1960’s go-go flair -- complete with high-kicking choreography, off-the-cuff banter, and plenty of scandalous new stories from life in Sin City! So come come and catch all the go-go action before she’s gone gone.
In January of 2008, EDIE assumed the role of Emcee - a role originated by Joey Arias - and became the new “Mistress of Sensuality” in Cirque du Soleil’s Zumanity at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino. Since her debut in the show, Edie has performed for well over a million people.
A native of Portland, Oregon, EDIE began her professional dance career at the age of 17 with Ballet Oregon. For the next eleven years she danced with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Ballet Chicago, and Pennsylvania Ballet before moving to New York to pursue musical theater. EDIE quickly became a fixture in New York City where she racked up a bevy of awards including Best Drag Queen (HX Award), Best Dance Artist and Entertainer of the Year (Glammy Award). She starred in her autobiographical, off-Broadway show Legs!, performed on the MTV Video Music Awards, appeared on “Sex and the City,” was featured at Wigstock and Broadway Bares. She made her Broadway debut alongside Cyndi Lauper and Alan Cumming in the Tony-nominated revival of The ThreePenny Opera at Studio 54. She has also toured the country as Jo in the sitcom parody The Facts of Life: The Lost Episode. For more information on EDIE visit www.simplyedie.com
