Campy Cuban chanteuse Margarita Pracatan returns to the New York stage with a greatest hits show that is guaranteed have you cheering with delight...or bewilderment. Margarita's hits are many, but look for her to turn her thick accent and slippery grasp of English toward such classics as Mamma Mia, Hello, and I Will Survive, as well as current pop hits by the likes of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Beyonce. MARGARAITA PRACATAN'S GREATEST HITS will take place at The Laurie Beechman Theatre (407 West 42 Street) on Thursday, September 29 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $22.00, and may be purchased online at www.SpinCycleNYC.com, or by phone at 212-352-3101. There is a $20 food/beverage minimum.

Born in Cuba, Margarita Pracatan's family expected her to become a teacher, but she willfully ran off to New York to pursue her dreams of show biz stardom in the early 1960's. That stardom was elusive until she found a home on Manhattan Cable's public access channels  in the 90's, and her star skyrocketed into orbit. Producers of British television's The Clive James Show caught her act while channel surfing on a visit to New York, and she became a beloved regular on that show for years. She has released two CDs, "Margarita Pracatan: Live in Edinburgh" and "It's Party Time," and has appeared in concert all over the world, including at such prestigious venues as The Royal Albert Hall in London.
